About the class
Become your own source for that spell-binding experience of Shibari from every rope enthusiasts’ dreams! Whether your rigger is novice or highly skilled, you hold the power to make any Shibari experience what you desire it to be. This class is designed for bottoms who love to be tied, are ready to own their experience fully, and step into the art of potent co-creation with their rigger.
To move the experience from performance, art, or technique and into intimate, palpable aliveness, we explore questions like “how do I get out of my head and more fully in my body?” Then we discover the forms of feedback that transform back-seat bunny into sensual, sovereign Shibari mama. We’ll also get behind and under “why” you want to be tied so you can embody the full person you are inside those ropes! Bottom’s presence is the raw, wet clay, so let’s get ourselves soft, moldable, and attuned to co-creating that special state that whisks you both away!
Your Shibari Lady, Christiana Joy
Christi has been tying and playing with rope since before she knew about Shibari, which was only just over a year ago. She trained in vulnerable, connective tying with Rina Trevi in Austin and fell in love with the ritual and shamanic potential with ropes. With her therapy and bodywork background, ropes became an obvious tool for deepening somatic processing and widening the field of intimacy available in tender connections. She earned her graduate degree in Social Work from University of Pennsylvania in 2015 and now practices integrative pelvic care specialty with much alternative medicine training! She resides in Berks County with her aging parents and adolescent daughter.
