Learn The Ropes: Beginner Shibari Workshop at Bound Studio

This workshop is perfect for beginners looking to dive into the world of rope in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. In this 3 hour workshop, you'll learn the foundational ties and knots, master the essentials of rope handling and care, and get familiar with key safety practices and terminology. With a cozy group of up to eight couples, you’ll enjoy plenty of personal attention and hands-on guidance.

  • Tuition is $49 per person.

    Please pay for your workshop partner at checkout and include their email information so that they may sign the waiver electronically.

  • All students will require the following rope kit (available for purchase or rent at the studio)

    (1) 30ft or 40ft Rope.
    (1) 10ft or 15ft Rope
    (1) Safety Shears

    6mm hemp or jute rope is recommended, please avoid cotton or other softer fibers.

  • Students should dress in comfortable clothing appropriate for a classroom environment. Stretchy clothing such as Yoga, athleisure or gym attire are your best option. Jeans are not recommended.

    Bunnies (person being tied) should consider wearing shorts and a tank of some sort as rope does work best skin to rope.

  • We have everything you will need available at the studio, including water and tatami mats. Feel free to bring your own water bottles, but please no open containers on the studio floor.

    Should you desire some additional comfort, please feel free bringing a yoga mat, pillow, blanket or hoodie.

  • We can usually accomodate new riggers who wish to learn to tie on another person by partnering them with an experienced rope bottom for a workshop.

    Simply sign yourself up and then text/email us that you would like to be partnered with somebody.

    This service comes at a cost of $20/hr paid directly to your workshop partner.

    Please give 24 hours notice.

  • Yes! This workshop is designed to allow for self tying if you do not have a partner to tie with. All of the fundamentals reviewed in this workshop can be applied to tying solo or with a partner.
